Agreement to Terms: By accessing and using Bharat E-Wallet, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
1. Definitions
- "Service" refers to the Bharat E-Wallet digital payment system
- "User" or "Student" refers to enrolled students using the service
- "Vendor" refers to campus merchants accepting e-wallet payments
- "Institution" refers to the educational institution managing the service
- "Wallet" refers to the digital wallet associated with student accounts
- "Transaction" refers to any payment, top-up, or transfer using the service
2. Eligibility and Account Registration
2.1 Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a currently enrolled student of the institution
- Must provide valid student roll number and personal information
- Must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
- Must agree to these Terms and Privacy Policy
2.2 Account Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account information
- Keep login credentials and PIN secure and confidential
- Immediately report any unauthorized account access
- Comply with all institution policies and regulations
Important: You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Do not share your login credentials or PIN with anyone.
3. Wallet Operations and Transactions
3.1 Wallet Funding
- Add money through approved payment methods (UPI, cards, bank transfer)
- All top-ups are processed through secure payment gateways (Razorpay)
- Minimum and maximum top-up limits may apply
- Top-up transactions are final once processed
3.2 Making Payments
- Payments require valid 4-digit PIN authentication
- Sufficient wallet balance must be available
- Transactions are processed in real-time
- Daily and monthly spending limits apply
3.3 Transaction Limits
- Daily spending limit: ₹1,000 (adjustable by institution)
- Monthly spending limit: ₹10,000 (adjustable by institution)
- Single transaction limit: ₹500
- PIN attempts: Maximum 5 attempts before temporary lockout
4. PIN Security and Authentication
4.1 PIN Requirements
- Must set a unique 4-digit PIN for transaction authentication
- PIN must not be easily guessable (avoid 1234, birth year, etc.)
- PIN can be changed at any time through the app
- PIN is encrypted and securely stored
4.2 Security Measures
- Failed PIN attempts result in temporary account lockout
- Suspicious activity triggers additional security checks
- Regular security monitoring and fraud detection
- Immediate notification of security incidents
Security Tip: Never share your PIN, avoid writing it down, and change it regularly for maximum security.
5. Vendor Transactions
5.1 Authorized Vendors
- Only institution-approved vendors can accept e-wallet payments
- Vendor transactions require QR code scanning or manual entry
- Transaction details are recorded for both parties
- Vendor commission is automatically deducted from transaction amount
5.2 Transaction Disputes
- Report transaction disputes within 24 hours
- Provide transaction ID and relevant details
- Institution mediates disputes between students and vendors
- Resolution timeframe: 3-5 business days
6. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Sharing account credentials or PIN with others
- Using the service for illegal or unauthorized purposes
- Attempting to circumvent security measures
- Creating multiple accounts or fraudulent accounts
- Reverse engineering or tampering with the service
- Using automated systems to interact with the service
- Transferring funds to external accounts (if not permitted)
- Commercial use of student accounts
7. Service Availability and Modifications
7.1 Service Availability
- Service available 24/7 with periodic maintenance windows
- Scheduled maintenance communicated in advance
- Emergency maintenance may occur without notice
- No guarantee of uninterrupted service availability
7.2 Service Modifications
- Features and functionality may be updated or modified
- Terms may be updated with notice to users
- New features may require additional agreements
- Continued use implies acceptance of modifications
8. Fees and Charges
8.1 Transaction Fees
- No fees for wallet-to-vendor transactions
- Payment gateway fees may apply for top-ups
- Vendor commission: 2% of transaction amount
- No account maintenance fees
8.2 Fee Changes
- Fees may be modified with 30 days notice
- New fees require user acceptance
- Current fee structure available in the app
9. Data and Privacy
- Personal and transaction data handled per Privacy Policy
- Data shared with institution for administrative purposes
- Transaction history maintained for audit and compliance
- User consent required for data sharing beyond stated purposes
10. Limitation of Liability
Important Legal Information:
- Service provided "as is" without warranties
- Institution not liable for indirect or consequential damages
- Liability limited to direct damages up to account balance
- User responsible for transaction verification
- Institution not liable for vendor disputes or service quality
- No liability for service interruptions or technical issues
11. Account Termination
11.1 User-Initiated Termination
- Students may request account closure
- Remaining balance refunded per institution policy
- Transaction history preserved for compliance
- Process requires identity verification
11.2 Institution-Initiated Termination
- Accounts closed upon graduation or enrollment termination
- Violations of terms may result in account suspension
- Fraudulent activity results in immediate termination
- Appeal process available for disputed terminations
